~Early Fall Road Trip~

We started our little out of town getaway in Wichita, KS!!  Hubby had some business to tend to so we loaded the troops and headed out.  Not an easy task considering our weekends are usually full to the brim and anymore it's hard to get our entire family in the car to go anywhere, let alone for a Friday and the weekend.  Because of that we decided this might be our only opportunity through the Fall to leave. The girls were both out of school so we pulled the 2nd grader out and away we went.  Allie was lucky enough to bring a friend so we were traveling with 5 kids. Wichita is always fun....Friday we all had lunch with an old friend from College and had dinner with a customer and his wife, while the kids ordered pizza back in the hotel room.  Later that night we were told by the hotel staff that David Archuleta had been staying in our hotel that night....wow that would have been so cool if we had actually seen him!!!  After dinner we all walked over to Alley Indoor Entertainment ......FUN FUN FUN...didn't get home till after midnight!!

It seems like at least once a year our family hits the bowling alley.  I'm starting to think it should be more often because every one of us enjoys it and it's such a cool family event!!!  What a fun time for family interaction and family time!!!  We laughed, talked, sang, ate, cheered and enjoyed this time together so much!!

Some of us even scored a few strikes and did a Happy Dance!!!!

Inside this cool big place was also a race track....now we're talking!!!!  My boys were in paradise....yes I said my boys...all 3 of them!!!!

Saturday morning was an early rise and shine.....we were off to the great city of Manhattan, KS.  Had our purple pride on and were ready for some KSU Football....little did we know we'd be sitting in the KSU Basketball Arena for a whole hour!!!  And this picture is why......

Yes a lovely Wall Cloud appeared about 3 minutes into the game. (This is the 2nd wall cloud we've seen while participating in an outside event this year that we've had to run from...the other was at Boy Scout Camp)   The whole time the announcer said there was a "lightening delay" so the crowd wasn't going anywhere.  After several minutes the clouds began to get worse and the announcement was made to clear the decks and head to the basketball arena to seek shelter.  Nothing was ever mentioned of a tornado and no sirens were ever heard.  By the looks of the clouds we really began to get worried....clouds were spinning and it was a very scary feeling trying to push your way into a basketball arena with hundreds of other people.  I had all the kids clenched near me and it was very unpleasant to think of a tornado coming down right where you were standing and taking that many people with it......ugggghhhh.  Well we made it in and we were safe.  God definitely protected us that morning and made sure a tornado did not form above us, instead it was just heavy wind and rain.              

  Once we entered the basketball arena we felt very safe....well I did have visions of a tornado tearing the roof off the arena and putting myself under a seat, but none the less I tried to enjoy myself.  What was also bad was there was no cell phone service so we couldn't even check radar, call or text!        

The kids and hubby all headed down to the floor with many others ...when would they ever have that chance again?  It was especially cool because we are huge Basketball Fans and the Cats almost went to the Final Four this past season!!

Then finally back to the Football Stadium!!!

To see the boys tear it up.....according to others it was an ugly game!!!

We had fun anyway even though we were a little nervous about the win to UCF.....

Best of all the SUN came out and it was hot!!!!!

Final TOUCHDOWN......KSU WINS!!!!!

And off to Aggieville!!!!!!  And yet another Adventure down in the books!!
