Irish for the Day

Where has September gone?....it's already half over and I haven't blogged but once!!  We have been doing so much, having so much fun, getting back into the groove of school but trying to keep up with so much else...festivals, practices, games, back to school nights, Scouts, Church events, football, catering events, office training, daycare routines, yard work, and of course for Bob...work, golf, work, golf, work, hunt, work, oh and who could forget fitness training on our bikes (which is huge and I'll blog about that soon!!!) It's a crazy time of year but we are loving it!!!  The Crisp Fall air is not here yet, nor are the colors, leaves, or smells of Fall.....as soon as they are you will be hearing and seeing all about it.

As you can see from this beautiful GREEN picture of Logan and the Fountain....we went to the Irish Fest down at Crown Center over Labor Day weekend.  This is the 1st time we have gone to this and it was a blast!!!  Usually we are out of town or at the Lake over Labor Day and since we decided to stay home this long weekend we planned some special things to do around town and this was one of them.

If you have been to Kansas City, you should know we are known for our Fountains and BBQ.....both of which I Love!!  The Irish Fest is held down at Crown Center and the Fountains down there are the best.....You can actually run through them!!  I loved taking pics of the boys running through the water....such a kid thing, such an awesome memory, and it was a very HOT day so the water felt Great!!!  I'm glad that these fountains were not green...could have come home with some very green boys!!

We played in the fountains for quite a long time....it was the perfect day!!  The boys could not have had more fun!

The kids enjoyed waiting for their balloons to be made...it is so cool to see someone twist up these little balloons to make an item of your choice.  Hannah of course chose a monkey and the boys picked swords.  The friends we were with picked a shamrock and a poodle.  Of course we were back in line for another as soon as Logan's sword popped.  Allie and her friend that came along decided to head into Crown Center right there to do a little girl shopping...wasn't quite into the balloon thing!!

Our Church had their own little beer tent (yes I said our Church)....Catholic Folk.  So the Adults had to stop at the tent and try some good Ole' Irish Beer!!!  The nice cold beer never tasted better.  We also hit our local City's Boulevard Brewery Tent...for some nice Pale distributed right here in our Brewery District.  We enjoyed resting and taking a break while listening to the Irish Band Red Hot Chili Pipers...the bagpipes never sounded better!!!  What a great Irish Fest our City puts on!!!
